Talk about divine decadence! I wish I had been front row at Paris fashion week yesterday when Christian Dior's John Galliano showed some wickedly over the top glamorous gowns. (see below - not the ones with his horse riding theme but the others!)
So theatrical and in terms of the glorious shapes, fabrics and flouncy details not out of the question for a bride. Yes I know we may not have a budget for the actual Christian Dior couture gown but perusing these gems is all about sparking your imagination for your big day look. Even just a small detail you may find within a designer gown that takes your fancy could transform you wedding dress from traditional to fashion forward fabulous!!
(see below Galliano's sublime rose coloured ball gown - Love it!!)
I personally love clean lines and amazing structure so I am so inspired by these beautiful creations (above) from Armani.
Apart from the arresting shapes, the extraordinary detail in the beaded fabric (see below) illustrates how just one detail can make the dress something incredibly special. That's the way you want to feel on the day. Special. You don't want to feel this is a normal dress that you may wear to a party next week. This is the dress of a lifetime!
As for a really unique spin on a wedding dress - check out one of Bride magazine's favourite stylist's blog this week. Philip Boon's friend looked simply stunning in a leopard print wedding gown. Good on her!! Check it out: Stylist Says
Think outside the square girls and enjoy your quest for the perfect wedding dress!!
